Second inscription 'Hugh Dawnay 1904' at top of half-title pages. Major Hon. Hugh Dawnay was killed in action in the first Battle of Ypres in 1914. He was decorated with the Distinguished Service Order DSO. Vol I - both hinges cracked. Both vols - bound in red cloth boards with gilt crest on front boards and gilt lettering and gilt rifle on spines. Vol I - cloth split along length of both edges of spine. Cloth chipped at top and bottom of spine. Vol II - cloth chipped a little at top of spine. Both Vols - corners bumped and rubbed. Damp stains on top corners of both volumes, not extending beyond boards. Overall condition Good+
