Fold-out Map of the Tour through Scotland and the Hebrides by Johnson & Boswell in 1775 in Vol IV. Fold-out Round Robin addressed to Johnson in Vol VI. Armorial plate of Barter family on fep of each volume. Contemporary tan half leather with brown marbled hard paper boards. Marbled edges. Black labels with gilt lettering. Six decorative gilt bands and three floral gilt decorations on each spine. Small nick in spine label of Vol II and Vol VI. Tops and bottoms of spines and corners lightly rubbed. Marbled surfaces of boards rubbed away in patches on most volumes. Very clean text. Overall condition VG. A very attractive set. |
